Tips for a Smooth C-Section Recovery

Giving your body the right care during recovery can help you heal faster, reduce pain, and feel emotionally stronger while bonding with your baby. A cesarean birth is both a beautiful and major surgery.

1. Rest More Than You Think You Need

Your body has gone through seven layers of surgical healing and its not a joke. Sleep whenever your baby sleeps and avoid heavy household work for at least the first 6–8 weeks.

2. Keep Your Incision Clean and Dry

Wash gently with mild soap and water. Pat dry. Avoid powders or creams unless prescribed by your doctor. Watch for redness, swelling, or fluid leakage.

3. Support Your Belly When Moving

Use a soft pillow to press gently against your tummy when coughing, laughing, standing, or breastfeeding to reduce pain and protects your stitches

4. Walk a Little Every Day
